In the fall of 2014, the City of Garrison selected SRF Consulting Group, Inc. to produce their new comprehensive plan. With the previous comprehensive plan last revised in 1982, the City determined a new plan was needed due to the ongoing growth and changes the community was experiencing. The purpose of this plan was to identify the community's values, concerns, and perceptions in order to generate a future land use plan, goals, objectives, policy statements, and implementation actions that will serve to establish a framework for action by the City Council and Planning and Zoning Committee.

This comprehensive plan update was prepared by SRF Consulting Group, Inc. with the assistance from the citizens of Garrison, city council, planning and zoning committee, city staff, GAIA, airport authority, chamber of commerce, convention and visitor's bureau, park and recreation district board, and the public school district.
