In the fall of 2015, McKenzie County selected SRF Consulting Group, Inc. to produce their new comprehensive plan. With the previous comprehensive plan last revised in 2013, the county determined a new plan was needed due to the ongoing and potential growth as a result of the booming energy industry. The purpose of this plan was to identify the community's values, concerns, and perceptions in order to generate a future land use/growth management plan, as well as goals, objectives, and implementation actions that will serve to establish a framework for action by the Board of County Commissioners and Planning Commission.
