"Welcome to "The D"' is the product of an assigned, individual and team-oriented community research project. The purpose of the project was to apply our knowledge of community assets on a community of our choosing. Since my group member originated from the suburbs of Detroit and the community remains to be an important case study by its own merits, we chose the City of Detroit as our study location. The project consisted of two parts, a community assessment (group work) and a development case study (individual work) within the same community. In order to create a quality product and meet expectations, my group member and I visited and photographed areas throughout the City of Detroit to acquire a better understanding of the community as well as our individual development cases.
